Kay felt better when Nix placed a arm around her. She placed a hand on his chest, and pretended to look very shaken. When they had left, Kay held her breath, not wanting to take any chances. She really was a little shaken by this. The K.O men were serious, and she wasn't sure how long they'd be able to keep hiden. Sooner or later, they'd be recognized by the men who had been here today. She sighed in relif slightly, and leaned her head against his shoulder. "That...was close," She mumbled, her eyes closed. She felt a comforted with Nix near by, she wasn't sure why.

Nix breathed out loudly, waiting for his breathing to steady again. "Too close..." He felt Kay's head rest against his shoulder and he froze slightly, he'd never had much contact with girls he was still trying to decipher whether she was just being friendly or not. He heard the noise of the choppers growing fainter and he breathed out a sigh of relief again. If the K.O informed any of the other organizations out to destroy hybrids, then they'd be dead meat. At least they didn't bring the dogs. He thought almost happily to themselves, if they would've done, they wouldn't be here right now. They'd be somewhere up in one of those choppers, where it would lead to there death. He tried to forget about what he had been thinking. He held him arm round Kay's shoulders still and squeezed a little. "Kay? I think we should get back to the warehouse." He said in an almost shaky voice, but he cleared his throat and blinked a few times as the sun began to rise above the tree tops and landed across the park.

Kay felt Nix tighten his grip around her shoulders. She blushed slightly, but in the rising sun casting shadows, it wasn't quite visable. "Y-Yeah, you're right," She murmered, straightening her head. She wasn't sure why, but for some reason, with Nix standing right beside her, she felt...Calm. Comfortable. A small smile was on her lips, despite it all. She watched for a moment, as the sun started to rise, casting shadows. It was nice outside, and it wasn't really that cold. "Nix?" She asked, tilting back her head to look at him. "Thanks..." She murmered, a small smile still visable on her face.

Nix closed his eyes as the sun began to warm his face. He felt Kay's head move off his shoulder and turned his head to looked down at her as she spoke. She could see her cheeks were slightly red, but she was smiling. He shrugged and looked back in front of him, trying to think of something to say. "No problem." He released the grip he had of her shoulder and let his arms drop by his side. He had a childish grin on his face now and he stretched his arms. "I'll race ya." He shouted as he was already running towards the hideout, laughing to himself, but loudly. He dodged in between the trees, jumping over twigs and branches waiting for Kay to come speeding past him.

Kay watched as Nix sped off, a little stunned for a moment, but a childish grin soon filled her lips. "You're on!" She called after him. She sped off, trying to catch up to him, laughing as she ran. As she ran, she realized something. She hadn't been happy, just really happy, for a while. But when she met Nix, she started to laugh again, she started to smile again. But why did seeing his smile make her happy? He's my friend, that's why But was it?
